Description

This IB French B–aligned writing task prepares students for Paper 1 by having them respond to an informal email from a French exchange partner. Students choose from several detailed partner profiles and write a 150–250 word response that includes personal information, comparisons, past-tense narration, and follow-up questions.

The task mirrors the structure, language expectations, and communicative purpose of an IB Paper 1 prompt. It can be used as an in-class writing assessment, mock exam, homework task, or formative practice during an “Identités / Loisirs” unit.

An informal email writing guide is included to help students use appropriate register, structure, and expressions.
