⭐ Acronym & Acrostic Project – Multi-Store Model & Working Memory Model (IB / Psych) ⭐

Turn your students into the teachers! In this creative, low-prep project, students design a memorable acronym or acrostic to teach either the Multi-Store Model of Memory (MSM) or the Working Memory Model (WMM).

🎓 What Students Do

Students will:

1. Choose a Model
   

• Multi-Store Model (sensory, STM, LTM, encoding, storage, retrieval)
• Working Memory Model (central executive, phonological loop, visuospatial sketchpad, episodic buffer)

1. Create an Acronym or Acrostic
   

• Select 4–7 key terms from their model
• Turn them into:
  
  • a catchy acronym (e.g., E.S.R. for Encoding → Storage → Retrieval), or
  • a fun acrostic sentence (e.g., “Cats Play Videos Eagerly” for WMM components)

1. Design a Visual Aid
   

• Poster or slide that shows:
  
  • The acronym/acrostic clearly
  • Each term defined and linked to the model
  • Arrows/icons to show information flow
  • A short real-life example (ex: how they study for a test)

1. Teach Their Peers (3–5 Minutes)
   

• Introduce their acronym/acrostic
• Explain how it represents the model
• Show how it helps memory (quick quiz, demonstration, or example)
