These interactive ice cream books are perfect for early learners who are learning to match and identify colors. Great for an ice cream, dramatic play, summer or anytime of the year for toddlers or preschoolers. These books can be used at small group, large group, individual 1:1 work, or independent work.

- Adapted Book: Colorful Scoops of Ice Cream Identify the color and put it on the empty ice cream cone.
- Adapted Book: Colorful Scoops of Ice Cream Match the color and put it on the ice cream cone that already has 1 scoop of ice cream.
Core Learning Objectives:
- Color Recognition: Identify and match 10+ essential colors in a functional context.
- Visual Discrimination: Practice matching identical colors to build early cognitive and math foundations.
- Fine Motor Practice: Uses tactile matching with Velcro pieces to encourage active participation and hand-eye coordination.
- Functional Communication: Use the repetitive nature of the books to practice carrier phrases and increase student MLU.
HOW DO YOU USE THIS RESOURCE?
- Matching on each page
- Velcro pieces to interact with the book
- Predictable language on each page,
- identify and match colors
- Uses carrier phrases to increase utterance length, "I see..." or "I found it." when the student finds a picture.
- Introduce new topics, use whole group, or as independent work
- Ask extension questions like "What flavor do you think red ice cream is?" "How does ice cream taste?" or "Is ice cream hot or cold?"
