Description

Do you need a low-prep, print and go activity for your students to practice functions? Have your students practice identifying functions using these 14 cards in multiple different ways depending on how you see fit for your kids! You can choose to use them as a simple worksheet, task cards around the classroom, centers, or cut each out and have them choose questions from a bucket to complete.

Topics covered:

  • Identify functions using tables, graphs, and ordered pairs (14 cards)
    • 8.F.1: Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output. 

  • Function Notation (6 cards)
    • F.IF.2: Use function notation & evaluate functions for inputs in their domain
    • Not required in 8th grade, but I do use for my higher kids to prepare for Algebra 1

  • Input/Output Tables (6 cards)
    • F.IF.1: A function assigns each element in the domain to exactly one element in the range
