Description

Students will practice identifying functions in graphs, tables of ordered pairs, and mapping diagrams. The problems get more difficult as the student works through differentiated levels of practice.

The green level is the easiest and will build their confidence with simple graphs that are either a function or not a function.

The yellow level is slightly more challenging because the students need to analyze a set of ordered pairs in a table and decide whether or not it is a function.

The red level is the most difficult since students need to read a mapping diagram to determine whether or not it is a function.

Challenge your students to complete all three levels or let them choose which level to start on!

Students can also use the Google Form™ to check their work or a printable version!

I bought this while preparing to review for our state test and it worked great! It allowed my students the opportunity to have the same information they learned prior, just presented in a different way.

Excellent activity for introducing functions to a my classes with special education, bilingual, 504 and gifted students. I was able to differentiate where the students entered the material thanks to the red, green, yellow lights. This also prevented other students from identifying who was in the "low" group. Middle school students truly appreciate that!
