Description

Want to try before you buy? Download the preview to try out the first 10 problems!

PLEASE NOTE: the task cards include the following pattern block shapes - yellow hexagon, red trapezoid, blue rhombus, green equilateral triangle, brown right trapezoid, and purple right triangle.

Want a hands-on, collaborative, rigorous, and engaging activity WHILE also giving students a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate the Standards for Mathematical Practice? Want an activity that you can use during intervention AND enrichment blocks that's easy to differentiate? If so, these If, Then task cards are for you!

These task cards focus on fraction operations (specifically multiplication, but of course, any reasonable and efficient method is encouraged). Each task card has a conditional “If, Then” statement on it. Students are presented with a statement (IF), and need to draw a conclusion (THEN) based on their calculations, models, and/or mathematical thinking. These task cards include various levels of rigor and are perfect for students in grades 4+.

What's Included:

210 task cards in 2 versions:

1. 210 task cards with 1 problem per card (6 cards per page)

2. 42 task cards with 5 problems per card (4 cards per page)

2 storage box cover options

3 recording sheet options

Detailed answer key with an example strategy of how to solve EACH problem!

Printable pattern blocks in color and black and white

Some Ways to Use:

♦ Use during intervention/enrichment blocks

♦ Use in math centers/stations

♦ Use as math warm-ups or cool-downs/exit tickets/exit slips
