Description
Check out one of the worksheets in our Binary and Imaging Activities bundle!
The whole bundle has short 15-30 min. activities that are hands on and FUN, you can download it here
This activity looks at the effects of image resolution and lays down the foundation for learning image transmission. In this worksheet, students color in 1s and leave 0s empty. In the low-resolution image, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to make out the image. They can then improve the resolution looking at a medium resolution image and then take it one step further to a high-resolution image. The key is included so you can see what it will look like at the end! The full bundle has 6 more of these fun binary color by number worksheets!
Activities in the bundle include binary coloring image resolution sheets (decipher the image at multiple resolutions!), recreating a low-resolution version of the Mariner 4 data through hand coloring, just like NASA scientists in the 60s, creating binary bracelets to write in binary, binary decoding jokes, binary dot cards.
My aim is to help teachers feel prepared to teach science. We have put together videos for this activity for teachers to get a quick overview of projects, learn talking points and more!
