This set features converting improper fractions to mixed numbers with funny aliens. Each page focuses on a different denominator from halves to tenths. Total of 54 colored cards. Black and white pages included.

Study buddy cards are intended for review, tutoring, or simple fun. They provide students with the opportunity to practice academic language, explain the process to their peers, and review the intended skill.

Each card has two sides. The “B” side has only the question for the “student” to see. The “A” side has both the question and the answer for the “teacher.” One student (or adult) plays the role of teacher and the other plays the role of student. Students may switch roles every other card or as you see fit. Students may need a piece of paper or small white board to work the problems.

Play Variations: One on one, Speed with 2-4 students plus one teacher (the winner gets to “keep” the card), Task Cards, or use in place of board game cards.

Assembly: Print out a set of cards on card stock. Page 1A is back to back with page 1B. Make sure that you have printed them with the right orientation so that when they are cut apart, the card will have the question side matched with the Q & A side. Laminate and cut apart cards. Be careful not to cut the cards in half. Place in a zipper bag. You can also create multiple games by printing the black and white pages on colored papers.

For use during game time, math centers, Fun Friday, rainy day recess, workshop, or tutoring.
