Description
Brief Notes on Inequality Word Problems Packet
This packet has 6 pages:
#1 - One-Variable, I generally go through this page as a class to guide students on expectations for the packet
#2 - One-Variable, Students are expected to piece information from the "Write the Inequality" to deduce that haircuts are $11. Then they solve the rest.
#3, #4 - One-Step Two Variable
#5, #6 - Two-Step Two Variable
Some classes and students need guidance to start each problem with a desire for help on how to set up inequalities and how to solve them. Each page requires students to then graph the inequality, sometimes making their own graph, and then answering two analysis questions about the word problem. The last problem can be particularly challenging for students not familiar with decimals.
I teach students with brief notes that allot more time in class for students to practice material. I give an assignment on the material so students can use the majority of class time experiencing and mastering problems on their own.
My students are behind in math skills and have time and time again flunked out of math classes or have been expelled. I aim to use short concise notes to get students back on track and build up their math skills.
