Description

Helping students make inferences can be one of the toughest reading skills to teach—especially when you’re preparing for CAASPP or SBAC test prep in ELA.

You need resources that make the skill clear, approachable, and easy to reinforce across both fiction and nonfiction.

These 20 Inferencing and Text Evidence Task Cards give your students repeated, focused practice with passages that mirror the types of questions they’ll see on state assessments.

Each card includes short, engaging fiction and nonfiction texts with multiple-choice, multiselect, hot text, and constructed response questions—all designed to strengthen comprehension and inference skills.

Perfect for ELA small groups, intervention, or independent practice, this resource makes it simple to provide consistent inference practice without extra prep.

Whether you’re reviewing for CAASPP test prep, SBAC test prep, or just want to boost critical thinking, these cards help students connect evidence to inferences with confidence.

Great for elementary students. Teachers of other grade levels have found success. Click for the Middle School.
