What does the evidence say about working on inferencing?Evidence shows the importance of using explicit instruction for teaching students to read between the lines and to attend to details they might not normally attend to. Higher level thinking skills may be difficult to teach, but most studies have shown positive results in a short period of time. (Elleman, 2017).

My students absolutely loved the graphics. It was also much “cooler” to be working with a comic. The story we used was cute and funny and a couple of the students were really excited to show their classmates what they got to work on. The “comic” nature of the resource helped to raise the students social profile, as the other students thought it was pretty cool.

I had such a hard time keeping my older students engaged in inferencing tasks. This resource changed the game! My kids are so motivated by the silly comics and find it so fun! Highly recommend if working with early elementary students!

In theory, I should love this & I do like it but also find that I MUST review the directions before use and even then I feel like I mess it up somehow!

I loved having a completely different type of resource to use with my students. Boredom is the enemy and being able to tap into a different modality (hello, my little creative, artistic ones) is so important.
