Nice text for a quick assessment, especially before AIR testing. It's hard to find texts short enough to use in one class period that mimic those test prompts.
**I meant to say that it is normally hard to find short texts, but these are good! They are the right length! Sorry for the confusion.
Sorry that things didn’t seem to live up to what you were expecting. Let me know if there is anything specific that might be able to be improved. Having used this in my own class, and knowing I often want students to spend more than the length of time of one class period to complete their essay writing, I often given the text set the day before but with only about 20 minutes or so for them to annotate and prewrite. That’s one of the reasons the item lists more than one day for the duration. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for the feedback thus far and for any future ideas.
