Writing an informational piece helps to prepare our students for information based writing in science, math and social studies .
The following printables will help your students to work through the writing process step by step as they develop an opinion and support it with details.
Packet includes:
Graphic organizers at three levels, for fluent writers, on level writers and struggling writers.
Diagram/visual representation section ( copy front to back with graphic organizers)
Draft paper– every other line is darkened to remind them to skip lines. These lines can then be used to add or change information during revision and/or editing.
Self check rubric and peer check rubric ( One full sheet per student, half sheet for self check, half sheet for peer review)
Final copy paper with places for two diagrams or visual representations
