Inquiry-based learning is a student-centered and teacher-guided instructional approach. It empowers students to become critical thinkers. It increases students’ ability to develop a deep understanding of content while increasing students’ intellectual
engagement.

Students start by thinking of important inventors or inventions they would like to research and why. Then, students pose questions about their inventor or invention. Students go through the research process by finding sources and information about the invention they choose to write about. Students will become more invested in their learning when they have more control over what they will research.
