Integer Basics & Integer Operations Puzzle Decoder Activity

Students will gain valuable practice with integers using two versions of the Integers Puzzle Decoder:

• Version 1: Integer Basics - identify integers, write an integer from a contextual situation, use absolute value, and model integers using red (-) and yellow (+) counters
• Version 2: Integer Operations - add, subtract, multiply, or divide integers between -100 and 100, including using models of red (-) and yellow (+) counters

Students will answer each question, and use their answer to determine the missing letter in the code. Then write the letter on the line corresponding with the question number.

This activity is great for independent practice, partner work, extra credit, or homework.
