Integer Operations (Adding & Subtracting) Guided Notes

This is a guided notes resource for adding and subtracting integers. Adding integers is practiced using both a number line and counters (I have students use physical manipulatives and draw them on to their note sheet as the filled in copy shows). I also use printed and laminated number lines with dry erase markers, but number lines are printed on the notes so they are not necessary. This resource is in a bigger integers bundle which includes multiplying and dividing AND practice pages! This not

Percent of Change & Percent of Error Guided Notes

This is a guided notes bundle for teaching how to calculate percent of change and percent of error. Instead of teaching POC as a formula, I have students recall conversions and ratios from prior lessons by setting up the ratio (difference/original) and then converting that fraction into a percentage. Same steps, just a different approach so as to spiral review. I teach percent of change first and follow it up with percent of error so students are familiar with the approach of setting up a rat

Teaching style

Guided notes are the foundation of my instruction with lots of further practice built in after. Students in my classroom have the opportunity to engage with peers through gamification (both online and on paper), group work, stations, and hands-on activities. I try to lead with humor and positivity. We learn and, hopefully, grow a little every day!

My own education history

My first Bachelor's degree was a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology. After graduating, I shifted gears and received a BS in Mathematics Middle Childhood Education. I also have a Master's degree is in Curriculum and Instruction in Inclusive Education.

Additional biographical information

When I'm not teaching and sharing products here on TpT I love to spend time with my daughter and husband, watch reality tv, play pickleball, walk my dog, Winston, and work on home improvement projects. I love living in a place that has all four seasons and am a big NFL fan (Go Bills!) I try to travel at least once a year to a place I've never been that is known for its food (my husband and I are very food motivated and have a running list of our top foods ever eaten). I am a creative at heart and love that this little small business is an outlet for me while helping other educators. Thanks for being here!
