my students always struggle with integer operations. this was a great way for my students to help grasp the concepts on their own before we discussed in class whole-group. it made teaching the concept much easier for my students.

I loved using this resource. This was one of my go to items after its initial use at the start of the school year for integers. I went to it to reinforce and to offer extra credit. My only problem with this file, is I edited it to not have the x as the times symbol, I made white and transparent boxes over the x to use with parenthesis. Since I teach 8th grade math I want to make sure my students see x as a variable and less as a symbol for multiplication.

During virtual learning I needed activities and concepts that were not part of my normal 8th grade curriculum to review what they had already missed due to distance learning in the spring of 20. This activity was fun, great review and something that i could use to help me learn to make similar activities for myself. thanks

Apply and extend previous understandings of addition and subtraction to add and subtract rational numbers; represent addition and subtraction on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram.
Describe situations in which opposite quantities combine to make 0. For example, a hydrogen atom has 0 charge because its two constituents are oppositely charged.
Understand that multiplication is extended from fractions to rational numbers by requiring that operations continue to satisfy the properties of operations, particularly the distributive property, leading to products such as (–1)(–1) = 1 and the rules for multiplying signed numbers. Interpret products of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
