This download contains a printable version that is built into a physical manipulative. You will need a hole punch and metal brad to build the tool. A digital version is also included that can be manipulated in Google Slides.

The printable version includes a cutout of the manipulative and simple directions for constructing and using the tool. You’ll need a small metal brad fastener, scissors and cardstock to build the tool. Laminating allows students to write on the tool with a dry erase marker as they work through problems.

The digital version was built in Google Slides. Students drag and drop red and green arrows to the integers they are adding. Just like the printable version, the digital version works with absolute value. Simple directions are typed onto the Slide that students can follow.
