Description

This lesson is designed for students that struggle with signed number arithmetic. The idea behind the lesson is that misconceptions need to be exposed in order for learning to occur.

This is not an in-depth, "Why this works," lesson, because at this point, they've likely seen all of that, but it doesn't help.

At the end of the lesson there are homework assignments with answer keys.

I like how the lesson is designed to expose some misconceptions in a non-threatening way, but also in a way that allows students to identify their own wrong thinking and recognize what is wrong with it. This is a powerful lesson, thank you for sharing.
