Description
Visual learners will appreciate the clip art graphics that are used to explain the concepts of adding integers with the SAME sign and with DIFFERENT signs. Steps are provided to guide the students through practice problems. The worksheets are designed for preliminary introduction to the concepts of integer addition and can be used as guided notes during lecture. Great resource for tutors and for community college professors who teach prealgebra/beginning algebra courses.
Add integers with the SAME sign: The student determines the sign of the answer, then adds the absolute values.
Add integers with DIFFERENT signs: The student determines the absolute values, the sign of the answer, and then subtracts the absolute values.
The problems are designed so that the student knows to include a sign and the sum/difference in the answer.
