Description

This is a PowerPoint that can be used as notes or as a test review for understanding all things integers and rational numbers. These notes are structured with a do now, and objective followed by scaffolded examples and practice questions. These notes align with the EnVisions Math textbook for topic 2, including prior knowledge from content before and after, but can be used separately as well!

This presentation is a combination of multiple choice style questions, drag & drops, fill in the blanks, number line and coordinate plane graphing, compare and order rational numbers by value, reading a table, real world scenario problems, and more!

Once you have downloaded this product, you will be able to completely customize your presentation to fit your needs. Once downloaded this file, the words and slides are well structured and organized! (Although, you can customize to your liking anyway!)

Understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values (e.g., temperature above/below zero, elevation above/below sea level, credits/debits, positive/negative electric charge); use positive and negative numbers to represent quantities in real-world contexts, explaining the meaning of 0 in each situation.
Understand a rational number as a point on the number line. Extend number line diagrams and coordinate axes familiar from previous grades to represent points on the line and in the plane with negative number coordinates.
Recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line; recognize that the opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself, e.g., -(-3) = 3, and that 0 is its own opposite.
