Interactive Apple Tasting Graph
Share

Description

This interactive apple tasting graph is a fun and engaging way to combine sensory exploration with early math skills in a preschool classroom. After students taste red, yellow, and green apples, they select their favorite and drag the corresponding apple image into the graph. As the class participates, the graph visually builds to show which apple is the most and least popular.

This activity helps children practice several foundational skills:

  • Data Collection & Graphing: Students learn how to organize information and represent data visually.
  • Decision-Making & Expression: Children practice expressing their preferences and making choices.
  • Counting & Comparing: As the graph fills, students can count each apple color and compare quantities using math vocabulary like more, less, equal, and most popular.
  • Language Development: Discussing taste, color, and texture encourages rich vocabulary use and descriptive language.

It's a simple yet powerful hands-on activity that blends science, math, and language skills--all while making learning fun and meaningful.

Please note: I used this product on a ViewSonic ViewBoard. In order to make it interactive, you must download the Full Screen for Google Slides extension. It will not be interactive if you put it in presentation mode on the ViewBoard screen. You must use the extension.
