🎅 Help Santa Load His Sleigh!
Students embark on a festive adventure as Santa’s trusted helper. Their mission: determine which sacks can safely fit into Santa’s sleigh based on weight limits, total loads, and clever deductive reasoning.

This activity keeps students engaged, thinking, and laughing as they take on Santa’s sleigh-loading challenge!

Total of 6 Math Challenges:
- Problems 1 & 3: Determine if Santa’s sacks fit into the sleigh based on the weight capacity shown.
- Problem 2: Use your answer from Problem 1 to calculate the total weight if Santa made 15 identical trips.
- Problem 4: Use deductive reasoning to choose 4 sacks with an exact total of 700 lbs (a CHALLENGE problem!).
- Problems 5 & 6: Students create their own sleigh capacity and sack weights to build and solve a custom problem.
- Problem 5 uses 4 sacks
- Problem 6 uses 6 sacks
Support Materials:
- “Work Space Page” with organized tables for structured problem solving
- Answer Keys (in two sizes, including a large-print version designed for envelope sorting)
