I use these journal prompts to supplement Go Math Chapter 5. The pack start with very basic skills, what is addition? definitions, examples with lots of picture. You will find word problems with space for students to draw and write. Also included are; addition counting on, number lines, fact fluency. And my favorite part, an activity for making each number 5-10 is in this pack. I find that making numbers 5-10 using manipulatives and cutting and gluing (with these journals) helps the students making the connection from the concrete to the representational. Since I have started using these journals with my students they have a far better understanding of creating sums to a certain number. In fact, after working on journal pages from this pack, my students are able to complete the Go Math pages almost completely independently.
