"Many of my 4th graders started the year not knowing multiplication facts. I used these as morning work/warm-ups the first 2 weeks of school. Students glue into math notebooks for future reference. "

Description

I love using interactive journals in my math class. I have found that using it as a resource that students can reference makes it an even more valuable use of class time. During our multiplication unit, I used these journal pages to reinforce the idea of multiples. I use both pages for each number two through nine. You could use one or both or use it as a worksheet, too. These pages are sized to fit in a composition book.

This resource includes 2 different pages for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

One page depicts a large number and multiples are cut and pasted into the number in order. The other page has a 'multiples of x' title and each multiplication fact can be answered by cutting and pasting.

This resource is a pdf file. Easily print the pages you want or need.

Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
