Interactive Math Notebook (August)

Interactive Math Notebook for 2nd grade

I created this interactive math notebook to supplement your math curriculum for the month of August. Since this is the beginning of the school year, many of the activities are review activities and may address 1st or 2nd grade Common Core Standards.

Thirteen different activities are included, with sample photographs for students to see the final product.

Many of the activities include differentiation of the same task.

The following concepts are covered in this pack:

• Numbers- Recognizing numbers represented as ten frames, tally marks, words, and standard form (0-19)
• Number Sense- Ten more, ten less
• Even and Odd Numbers- Sorting numbers 0-10
• Place Value- Writing standard and expanded form of numbers. Four versions are included with numbers within 100 and within 1,000
• Number Sense-Two versions of number bonds activities are included (within 10 and within 20)
• Number Sense/ Addition- Two versions of fact families activities are included (with prompts and without).
• Number Sense- Using dot cards to find combinations of ten
• Addition Strategies- Two versions of the “counting on” addition strategy activities (within 10 and within 20)
• Addition Strategy- Making ten book
• Word Problems- Addition word problems within 20 using a number line
• Measurement- measuring to the nearest inch using nonstandard units (color tiles)
