These interactive notebook activities are intended to help students understand how to find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths, how to show the volume in two different ways, apply the volume formulas to right rectangular prisms, represent three-dimensional figures using nets to make rectangles or triangles, use the nets to find the surface area of rectangles and triangles, and to apply techniques in context to solve real world mathematical problems.Included are:
-4 different Surface Area & Volume activities to engage students
-Teacher facilitated activity for 60-90 minutes of classroom time
-Activities include: Vocabulary, Finding Volume of Rectangular Prisms, Finding Surface Area of Rectangular Prisms, and Finding Surface Area of Nets.

Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths by packing it with unit cubes of the appropriate unit fraction edge lengths, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths of the prism.
