Interactive Notebook Dividers (Math 8)
Share

Description

Interactive notebooks are a great tool for keeping students' organized. A key part to this organizational system is the table of contents. I don't know about y'all, but I've always found tables of contents tedious to keep up with and in the end, a waste of time because students end up flipping through every page anyway.

If that scenario sounds familiar, consider replacing your table of contents with these dividers. Edit each divider to fit your needs or use mine exactly as they are with the print and go version. Each unit has its own divider with a tab that is visible when the notebook is closed. (Note: these dividers are sized to fit composition notebooks. Visibility of the tabs in other notebooks will be based on where you place the divider on the page.) The body of the divider has room for a summary activity, unit information, or whatever you want! Print on colored cardstock and glue them into students' notebooks at the start of each new unit. Students can easily see what is in their notebooks and quickly go to the section they need. No more flipping through every page! These dividers have seriously changed the way I feel about and use interactive notebooks in my class. I know they can do the same for you!

While this product is currently formatted with the 8th grade math units, you can easily edit the product for any grade level or any subject. I am also in the process of creating dividers for 6th and 7th grade math. Check back with my shop to find those products and more in the coming months!
