Description
The purpose of the interactive notebook is to:
• Involve students in “making sense” of their notes visually.
• Develop student understanding reading and note-taking skills.
• Teach students “approaches to learning” that will prepare them for success in school!
This is a printable document, that includes the following:
Page 1 – Interactive Notebook Guidelines. This is a guide for the teacher as well as for students. This pages teaches students how take notes and organize their note within their journal/notebook. It outlines where to put notes, handouts, book assignments, etc within their notebook
Pages 2-6 Table of Contents Outline. There is space to list what is on up to 139 pages.
Page 7 – Blank glossary. Students can list key vocabulary terms introduced as well as the page number in their journal where the term and definition can be found.
Page 8 – Unit Title page and KWL chart. Each unit student can write the unit title and list what they know or think they know about the unit. Students can list what they would like to know about the unit. At the end of the unit student can list the key things they have learned over the course of the unit. This page also has a place to list the start and the end date of the unit.
This is a great way for teachers to organize their journals and notebooks as well.
