Experience

I've been around! Most of my experience is in fourth and fifth grades and in middle school language arts. I've also done a K-2 multiage and once owned a Montessori preschool.

Teaching style

I love getting my hands dirty! Interactive notebooks? You bet! Hands on STEM and science? My favorite! Differentiated reading and math? All over it! (Got over my fear of that during my Montessori years.) Data? You know it... and my kids help me handle it. Teaching is a contact sport; I aim to win!

My own education history

As a kid, I attended small public, Parochial, and independent schools in the Midwest and South. I graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Ed. in 1991 from UNC-Charlotte and received my AMS (Montessori) training in Apex, NC in 2003-2004. I earned my gifted and talented license at Duke University in 2016.
