Do you need a low-prep, hands on way for your students to practice r-controlled vowel spelling patterns? This set of differentiated interactive notebooks allows students to practice reading and spelling words with r-controlled vowels.
The differentiated activities allow students to practice words with r-controlled vowels by reading words, writing words, and completing words by writing the beginning sound, spelling pattern, or ending sound. You can choose for students to match words to pictures or pictures to words. The words students will work with are words that can be encoded following a typical progression of phonics skills in order for students to focus on the intended spelling pattern.
What is included...
Interactive notebook set for each r-controlled vowel
ar – 19 pages, words: bark, barn, card, harp, jar, scar, scarf, shark, yard, yarn
er – 21 pages, words: baker, clover, eraser, hanger, over, pliers, spider, tiger, under, water
ir – 19 pages, words: bird, dirt, girl, shirt, squirt, stir, twirl, whirl
or – 19 pages, words: cord, cork, corn, fork, horn, shorts, sports, storm, thorn, torn
ur – 19 pages, words: curl, hurt, nurse, purse, surprise, turn, turtle, yogurt
All of the activities in this bundle are available in the same format. Once students know how to complete the engaging activity, their focus can be on the skill instead of the how to.

This set comes with EASEL activities. For each r-controlled vowel:
-click & drag the word to the picture
-type the whole word
-type the missing letters (vowel team, beginning sound, ending sound)
-write the whole word
-write the missing letters (vowel team, beginning sound, ending sound)
