Description

This brief and simple powerpoint on intertextuality discusses the idea of "One Text" through unit examples. This year the examples come from: The Body by Stephen King, The Outsiders by SE Hinton, Rumble Fish by SE Hinton, The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, Heroes by Robert Cormier, and True Grit by Charles Portis. I usually use this with a foldable review booklet I ask students to construct. This is the ideal lecture for near the end of the academic year, and pairs nicely with connected texts: La Belle Dame Sans Merci and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" or the graphic novel "Pway for Me" from DC Meets Looney Toons and slips from "Body Heat."
