Teacher Feedback:
"A PERFECT resource for practice... this is fun and not a traditional worksheet."
"This had some great visual images for my students. I think they really connected with the roller coaster concept and it was very effective to help them remember the "from left to right" idea that is so inherent in this concept. Even my advanced students benefited. I could even see it being a review activity for Calculus!"
"This was a great resource. The questions were appropriate to the standards and was easy to use. "
"As always, my students love these assignments and the videos are great."
Math Standards
Aligned with common core standards: Describe qualitatively the functional relationship between two quantities by analyzing a graph (e.g., where the function is increasing or decreasing, linear or nonlinear). Sketch a graph that exhibits the qualitative features of a function that has been described verbally. Include information about changes in the behavior of the function using terms such as increasing, constant, and decreasing. Items specifications for Florida’s B.E.S.T. standards: MA.8.F.1 Define, evaluate and compare functions. MA.8.F.1.3 Analyze a real-world written description or graphical representation of a functional relationship between two quantities and identify where the function is increasing, decreasing or constant. Problem types are limited to continuous functions. Analysis includes writing a description of a graphical representation or sketching a graph from a written description.
