Description
This set of 6th grade math binder notes provides an organized set of notes and practice problems to serve as an introduction to percent. Students are given notes, including the definition of percent and an example as it relates to the part and whole of a fraction with a denominator of 100. The rest of the "notes" section, offers examples for modeling percents using a decimal grid, writing equivalent fractions, or modeling on the number line. On the back side, students are given 16 practice problems, including identifying the percent of a shape that is shaded, shading given the percent, identifying the percent represented by a point on the number line, writing the percent using the concept of equivalent fractions, and a couple word problems.
These notes work great during guided instruction, small groups, reteaching, or review before an assessment.
