Description

We have released a series of 3 modules of about 220 pages in total to introduce the students in the world of computing.

As experienced technologists and teachers, we believe that a more structured approach to introducing kids to Computing is necessary. A lot of schools throw students directly into coding, while other schools offer AP CSP as their first and only Informational Technology Course.

We know that understanding computing and IT will take a little more than that and it would also potentially need a more structured introductory approach with:

- basic notions of Hardware
- introductory notions of Operating Systems

- introductory notions of Applications Software

From there, the student can go in different directions with this foundation laid.

Teaching this Bundle should cover about 3 month of instruction. This can be taught both at High School and at Middle School level.

The Bundle offers solid concepts of PC Hardware, theory of Operating Systems and a unique, genuine approach on the world of Application Software. While College level and industry level notions are introduced, the material is perfectly suitable and structured to be taught in High Schools and Middle Schools.

The Bundle also offers formative assessments for each module in the form of multiple choice questions, open text questions and T/F questions.

Download this Bundle now and start introducing you kids to Computing. You can plug this in at the beginning of an Intro To Tech Course or in the middle, depending on where it fits in your Curriculum.

You can even plug this in front of your regular AP CSP Course!

This was a great resource for my senior students. It covers all the essentials with some extra context for the more advanced students and saved me a lot of time having to digitise their textbooks for our online resource bank. The resources are well constructed and clearly presented. The topics flow well between one another (I bought the whole bundle and am currently teaching the second hardware section). Would definitely recommend this whole course. It’s also very easy to print out as well as can be turned in to a powerpoint or google slides deck in adobe with a single click. Be aware that this might cover more than some curriculums suggest content wise so some modification and trimming might be required in those cases, however if used as a textbook alternative where you can just skip a page or section as required makes this very user friendly.

Thank you so much for your review Ruan! This OS curriculum is very unique at K12 level with notions usually taught in Computer Science Colleges. As you mentioned these Operating Systems notions are presented in an easy enough manner for the High School students to totally understand and appreciate them. I hope your students will definitely get ahead of the pack with this! Adrian @ CSR
