Description

This is a 90-minute lesson for the first day of AP Language and Composition. It is an introduction to the class that involves journaling, a discussion about argumentation techniques, a short video, and a look at a released exam. Students end with a reflection on their strengths and weaknesses. PowerPoint and note-taking guide are included, but you will need to edit/delete 1 or 2 slides to match your class. :)

I use this lesson with my AP Language and Composition class. Enjoy!

This resource was the perfect first-day activity! I loved that I could edit the slides, and my students were in shock at the requirement for the first day. However, I feel like it helped them know exactly what the course would look like! Thank you!!
