This set of 6th grade math binder notes provides an organized set of notes and practice problems to serve as an introduction to algebraic expressions. Students will explore vocabulary (algebraic expression, variable, operations, term, coefficient, and constant) as well as identify these components of an algebraic expression. On the back side, students will create a list of words and phrases that indicate each of the operations and then practice this by writing algebraic expressions, given a phrase or writing a phrase, given the expression. There are a total of 21 practice problems for further guided or independent practice.

These notes work great during guided instruction, small groups, reteaching, or review before an assessment.
