Description

Student tested, teacher approved!** This contribution includes the following:

  • - 4 pages of detailed class notes
  • - 4 worksheets (with very detailed answer keys that show each step of work, not just the final answers)
  • - A 'pop quiz' (with similarly detailed answer keys).

These pages walk students through important introductory definitions such as:

  • "Variable",
  • "Coefficient",
  • "Evaluate",
  • and others

with plenty of examples. PEMDAS is introduced as the "Order of Operations" with a similar amount of examples to practice. Also included is the idea that certain 'verbal phrases' can be converted to algebraic expressions for the four core operations of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. This introduction helps tremendously with word problems later on in Algebra.

**I have been a teacher now for over a collective 20 years, 15+ of those teaching each mathematical level in Pennsylvania schools ranging from Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calculus. All of my submissions have been used for my classes for multiple years to great success.
