Description

How this lesson is structured...

  • Visual Support First: We begin with shapes and pictures to help students reason visually.
  • Gradual Release: Step by step, we move into numbers and formal equations.
  • Flexible Use: This packet can be taught as a larger overall lesson or spread out as a mini-unit, and it pairs well with hands-on manipulatives, visuals, or other practice activities.

It includes:

  • 4 Lesson Pages
  • 4 Practice Pages
  • 4 Answer Keys

Because I have created this with Colorado standards in mind, I originally made this for Colorado Standard... "MA.1.OA.D.8 – Determine the unknown whole number in an addition or subtraction equation relating three whole numbers."

However, this worksheet is very flexible and I've also included some of the standards I've thought might pertain to this worksheet as well.

Happy Teaching!
