Description

This lesson aligns with the Common Core State Standards:

"STANDARD 1 - Science as Inquiry

The teacher understands scientific inquiry and has the ability to conduct scientific inquiry. 1A.understands assumptions, processes, purposes, requirements, and tools of scientific inquiry. 1C. understands different approaches to conducting scientific investigations."

PowerPoint lesson I in the "Science Skills" Matter & Energy unit. This lesson discusses how science begins and ends; the relationship between technology and science; and the natural branches of science.

A separate student PowerPoint worksheet is also available.

PowerPoint lessons contain many graphics and links to short videos to further student understanding.

PowerPoint slides also contain notes for the instructor based on students most "frequently asked questions" or FAQ's to help clarify the subject.

A class activity is included at the end of each lesson and a 20-question interactive quiz/review at kahoot.it is also included as a link in the last slide.

*All PowerPoint lessons; review programs; student worksheets/activities and assessments for this unit can be found under the "Introductory Physics Complete Unit I Science Skills" folder.
