What a fun project! My students followed the planning sheets and used their$10 budgets very responsibly. It was amazing how thoughtful (cheap!) they became when they had to stick to a budget. I allowed my class to pay $1.00 for an item and then take as much/many of the item as they wanted (I.E. $1 for as much ribbon as you like, $1.00 for as many popcicle sticks, etc.). My parents sent in lots of materials to work with also. We are very lucky.

I used this for the first time with my third graders this past year. I will continue to do this every year as an end of the year project.

I love how open-ended this challenge is. The students can literally create anything. I also liked how the students had to "buy" their supplies which made it interesting to see how each group decided to spend their money.

I think requiring teachers (who are already overworked and stressed out) to leave lengthy reviews on products we PURCHASED to earn "pennies" towards future products that we will PURCHASE is insensitive and selfish. There should NOT be a minimum amount of characters for the comments. Leaving a "Great resource!" should be enough!

I appreciate you leaving feedback. It helps the teachers who created the products. As a creator, I thank you for your time. “Great resource” would’ve been sufficient for me, too.
