Description

This MS PowerPoint presentation provides easy-to-understand and classroom-tested solution techniques for determining and solving direct, inverse and joint variation problems. This is the first subject and presentation I cover in my 10th and 11th grade Math 3 / Algebra 2 classes when studying rational functions. The presentation is fully animated to keep the students engaged and focused. Two (2) examples are included for each problem type (6 total) and each problem includes the detailed, step-by-step solution technique for solving. The detailed solution steps are not initially shown on the example slide as each solution step flies in from the right with a click of the mouse. This allows the teacher to ask their students to attempt to solve the problem on their own prior to the solution being shown on the slide. I always print out a copy of the slidepack for the students to take notes and write on while I am going through the presentation. The native MS PowerPoint ppt file is included to allow the teacher/end user to modify any of the slides if desired.
