Description

This project introduces students to self regulation. As a class we discuss emotions making connections to art, drama, or dance. Explore the 4 colour zones, our feelings, and coping strategies. Consolidate learning by creating stress balls to use to self regulate from one zone to another.

The zones of self-regulation is a great tool for students of all ages to become more self-aware while building emotional literacy.

Also a great introduction for discussions on mental health and well being.

Personally I have used this lesson for grades 1-8 and all students have enjoyed it!

Includes:

Teacher Class Lesson Slides with:

Related Drama and Art Games

Optional Stress Ball Craft (additional materials required: balloons and Playdough)

Class Matching Activity

Class Discussion Prompts
