Description

This purchase includes a 33-slide Powerpoint presentation introducing students to the process of Research using the steps of The Big 6. The 6 steps are discussed in kid-friendly detail. I have included audio on each page (the audio is the contents of the page being read aloud) that can be used if you like. I added audio to the slides so that I could save the Powerpoint as an M-PEG4 video (which is an option in the "save as" tab.)

If you save it as a video, you can upload it to Google Classroom, etc. and virtual learners can watch/listen to the listen online, instead of being expected to read the slides of the Powerpoint independently. I have found this to be very useful with my at-home learners.

However if you're using the Powerpoint in the classroom, you don't have to use the audio option. You can either delete the audio on each slide, turn the sound down, or go through the Powerpoint slides NOT in presentation mode.

I used this with my summer school third grade group. They were able to use this process to research animals.

This resource helps explain the Big 6 in a way that is easy for students to understand. It also helps students feel like they can be successful when they are researching because it breaks the process down.

I used the slides with 3rd graders in the library to introduce the Big 6 research model. The slides have great information and are very engaging. I also posted the video on Google Classroom to share with virtual students.
