Great Resource! The virtual wave lab is an excellent resource for educators seeking to provide a comprehensive exploration of amplitude and frequency in mechanical, sound, and light waves. Its interactive nature, clear objectives, and integration with PhET Simulations make it a valuable addition to any science curriculum. I highly recommend this virtual lab for its ability to engage students in a meaningful exploration of wave properties.

NGSSMS-PS4-1
Use mathematical representations to describe a simple model for waves that includes how the amplitude of a wave is related to the energy in a wave. Emphasis is on describing waves with both qualitative and quantitative thinking. Assessment does not include electromagnetic waves and is limited to standard repeating waves.
NGSSMS-PS4-2
Develop and use a model to describe that waves are reflected, absorbed, or transmitted through various materials. Emphasis is on both light and mechanical waves. Examples of models could include drawings, simulations, and written descriptions. Assessment is limited to qualitative applications pertaining to light and mechanical waves.
NGSSHS-PS4-1
Use mathematical representations to support a claim regarding relationships among the frequency, wavelength, and speed of waves traveling in various media. Examples of data could include electromagnetic radiation traveling in a vacuum and glass, sound waves traveling through air and water, and seismic waves traveling through the earth. Assessment is limited to algebraic relationships and describing those relationships qualitatively.
