This is a simple yet quite explanatory introduction to the concept of absolute values. It has been compiled as a one page “snapshot” to eliminate the difficulties of what absolute values mean.
It includes clear diagrams to explain this concept, definitions broken down into pill sized easy to understand nuggets of information. There are also a small number of practice questions, as well as an answer sheet for the teacher to use.
The students generally find this appealing – it is small enough to come across as nonthreatening but detailed enough to be helpful. I hope it is a big help to any of you that have students that experience problems with absolute values.
