Description

This low-prep, ready-to-use guide introduces students to the Micro:bit and MakeCode through step-by-step activities, coding challenges, and beginner-friendly projects.

Students will learn basic coding concepts while creating programs such as Happy/Sad Faces, Rock Paper Scissors, Mystery Music, and a final Pong game project.

This resource includes a student workbook/guide, presentation, rubric, and pacing guide to help you teach the unit with minimal preparation. A video is also included to demonstrate how to introduce and teach the Micro:bit in the classroom.

The lessons are designed for approximately 5–6 class periods (50 minutes each) and work well for middle school computer science, STEM, coding, or technology classes.

Feel free to copy, edit, and customize the materials to fit your classroom needs.
