Description

Add a touch of 90's magic to your secondary math classroom with these Invisible (Hidden) Math Posters - the perfect decor kit for your bulletin board display to help students navigate the unwritten and invisible rules of math. Decor with a purpose for your secondary (middle and high school) math classroom!

Everything you need is in this kit!

In this kit, you will get the following posters to print on regular 8.5 x 11 paper, which can be laminated and hung on the wall or a bulletin board display.

  • "Invisible Math" and "Hidden Math" bunting banners in color or B&W
  • "Invisible Math" and "Hidden Math" title letter blocks in color or B&W
  • 24 invisible math rule posters in both color and B&W (see list of rules below)
  • EDITABLE power-point file to create your own math rule posters (includes both colors & black and white templates)
  • Together you'll be getting 223 total pieces to create the Invisible Math display of your 90's dreams!

24 Math Rules Included:

  • Every whole number had a denominator of 1
  • Any nonzero number raised to the power of zero equals 1
  • There is a decimal point at the end of every whole number
  • Every variable has a coefficient of 1 to its left
  • There is a positive sign to the left of every number
  • There is a multiplication sign between every coefficient and variable
  • A negative sign to the left of a variable is the same as negative 1 times the variable
  • Every number has an exponent of one
  • A negative sign to the left of a number in parenthesis is the same as multiplying by -1
  • Two minus (or negative) signs is the same as a positive sign
  • Adding a negative number is the same as subtracting that number
  • Every radical (square root) has an index of 2
  • The square root of a negative number is a non-real (imaginary) number
  • A negative sign in font of parenthesis must be distributed
  • One over a variable is the same as the variable to the power of -1
  • A negative sign to the left of an absolute value symbol is the same as -1 times the absolute value
  • A fraction with the same number in the numerator and denominator equals 1
  • You cannot divide by zero
  • A whole number has a denominator of 1 when multiplying by a fraction
  • Percents are always out of 100, so move the decimal twice to the left when writing the decimal form
  • Distributive property - multiply the number outside the parenthesis by each term inside the parenthesis
  • A whole number divided by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal
  • Multiplication signs
  • Division signs
