Need a way to get your students in the lab during your bonding unit? This lab looks at household substances and their properties.

Substances: baking soda, sugar, salt & candle wax

Properties: melting point, solubility, conductivity in solution & conductivity as a solid

The slides have the lab procedure as well as interactive components. The slides also have students look at Phet for solubility of ionic and covalent substances.

There is also a Google form included that students can complete after they finish the lab. I have also included slides that have pictures of the different procedure steps for students who miss class.
