Description

Take the guesswork out of data collection with this Kindergarten Data Tracking Dashboard — an editable, color-coded tool that allows you to track and sort student performance in key early learning skills like letter names, letter sounds, high-frequency words, and counting skills.

This spreadsheet-based resource is designed with visual data clarity in mind, using conditional formatting to instantly color-code student scores:

  • 🔴 Red = Below benchmark
  • 🟡 Yellow = Approaching benchmark
  • 🟢 Green = Mastery

Perfect for progress monitoring, report cards, parent-teacher conferences, and RTI documentation, this tracker helps you make data-driven decisions with ease.

Skills Included:

  • Uppercase letter recognition
  • Lowercase letter recognition
  • Letter sounds
  • High-frequency words
  • Counting
  • Columns are editable

Features:

  • Auto color-coded cells based on score ranges
  • Editable Google Sheets
  • Sort by skill column (descending/ascending) to group students by need

Why Teachers Love It:

  • Saves HOURS of manual data entry
  • Instantly highlights students needing intervention
  • Keeps you prepared for IEP meetings, data talks, and MTSS reviews
  • Provides clear visuals to communicate growth to parents & admin

This data tracker is a LIFE SAVER! I used this every month, by creating a duplicate of the sheet, and was able to see my students' basic skills all in one place. This can also be used to make small groups for ELA- My students knew that every month the groups would change and they would have different people to work with! It made centers fun and allowed me to focus on different skills when we needed it.

It has space for you to easily track uppercase and lowercase letter recognition, letter sound recognition, HFW, CVC words, and how far your students can count! The columns automatically show the range of your students' skills by highlighting cells from low to high with red to yellow to green.

If you would like to sort based on one skill (and of course need the students names and data to stay together) you can highlight the entire sheet, right click, and chose sort by column _. This will allow you to sort by any qualifier you are looking for- student number, alphabetical order, counting, etc.!

This resource was very helpful for keeping track of student data. The colors made it very easy to see at a glance which students were doing well and which ones are in need of extra support.
